NO POSTS TILL LOIZEAU

Because we miss you we have decided not to post anything else until you arrive back from Christmas. It's a moratorium on interesting things until Jimmy joins in.

OK that's long enough.

Black and White World

Olafur Eliasson's light pieces use something like a monofrequency light [according to someone else I read] to create the black and white environment effect. This is the right type of bulb from what I can see [used in street lamps and other public utility lighting]. Low pressure sodium. Could be good for noirish interiors.

Of course it may be much more complicated than this because it is Art.

Alternative face closure

There are two ways I can see to close the face of this pattern. The first one is the one I went for in the 1.2 prototype.

This second one could be used if I re-jig the stitches and do a vertical cross. Or is this too religious in a conventional sense?

So it begins...

Prototype temporal lobe balaclava 1.2

I realise this isn't strictly within the material remit [tape + cardboard] but I am working my way up to a tape version. This is just a practice.

Fictional bomb/missile

Not quite a bomb, but the nerve agent missile in The Rock [not Con Air - sorry] has key features: coloured liquid balls & precarious disassembly.

Sleeping balaclava

This one is nice because it already has no facial holes. Not a pattern though.

Temporal lobe epilepsy

There's an article here on the Horizon episode that featured temporal lobe epilepsy and religious experiences:
Rudi Affolter and Gwen Tighe have both experienced strong religious visions. He is an atheist; she a Christian. He thought he had died; she thought she had given birth to Jesus. Both have temporal lobe epilepsy.
There's also a full transcript of the show.

Temporal lobe location

It's the green bits, yes?

Balaclavarama

A series of potential balaclavas (free patterns online) for temporal lobe bastardising. As soon as I get the right needles I will begin. Colour unsure.

"I'm the King of the sky!"

Again, this deals with romanticism, cinematic moments and travel. Easy Jet meets titanic - Props to fictionalise the everyday.

The romantic goodbye...
